Description
Basic Monitoring & ECG Workshop
GOAL of this Training – During this day we revisit the basics of monitoring and rhythm interpretation, and explore the relevance for this knowledge at the bedside. This training aims to meet the needs of the clinician while caring for a patient on telemetry in a ward, or a monitored patient in a critical care area. This day will give both knowledge and confidence in the initial nursing management of a patient experiencing rhythm changes.
We will identify both atrial and ventricular arrhythmia, starting with the most basic, and identify how these changes will impact on cardiac output and patient stability.
ECG interpretation will aim to equip the participant to identify ischaemia and infarct

Presenter
Liana Vandervelden will be presenting the “Monitoring, Telemetry & ECG workshop”. We invite you to join us as we discuss how the latest research is impacting the care we provide to patients at the bedside while also obtaining your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Hours. Gain confidence in assessing rhythms and ECG’s, and learn how best to react when rhythms change unexpectedly.
This training aims to encourage the participants to better identify potential and actual risk of deterioration based on rhythm and ECG changes.
Liana has years of experience in rural centres, and is very aware of the challenges that face clinicians in more remote areas. This program therefore is very adaptable for participants from country areas.
