Clinical Cardiology
Clinical Cardiology is a one day program addressing clinical issues at the bedside – Assessment, Management and escalation of care.
GOAL of this Training – During this day we revisit Cardiac anatomy and Physiology, and explore the relevance for this knowledge at the bedside. Structured assessment, and identification of both potential, and actual changes in patient condition are the cornerstone of clinical care.
Attending this day will improve your knowledge, and give you clinical background to current practice, and the changes of care in our very dynamic workplace. We believe evidenced based Practice, diligence and multidisciplinary teamwork, can and does improve patient outcomes.
We will explore the Acute and chronic issues surrounding the use of Ecstasy and ICE (Methamphetamine).

- The Heart – A&P …know what is absolutely relevant in the clinical arena.
- Chest Pain – Never miss a STEMI on ECG
- Arrhythmia – Identification, Assessment, and Management.
- Atrial and Ventricular rhythms and Management that goes beyond medication.
- Interest Topic – Ecstasy and ICE – Acute and Chronic Cardiovascular Issues.

Liana Vandervelden will be presenting “Clinical Cardiology”. We invite you to join us as we discuss how the latest research is impacting the care we provide to patients at the bedside while also obtaining your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Hours.
The basics of assessment and maintenance of cardiac output are stressed throughout the program. Participants will also gain confidence in rhythm identification, assessment and management goals.
Liana has years of experience in rural centres, and is very aware of the challenges that face clinicians in more remote areas. This program therefore is very adaptable for participants from country areas.
